Do you know how your iPhone can be useful during travelling? One of our regular readers just tried something innovative with his iPhone. What exactly he did was, he just logged onto AA.com by using his mobile safari. He then signed in and then displayed a boarding pass which was in PDF format to the American Airlines by which he was going to travel.
The AA executive just tried decoding the barcode readings from the PDF which the iPhone was displaying. Everybody was eager to know what is going to happen. Whether is it going to work or not! To everybody’s astonishment it really worked. The AA counter executive gave the boarding pass to the traveller. Such things sound really cool, what do you say?

Hey, you with the 160GB iPod. Think you're so great because you bought an iPod whose hard drive is larger than that of most laptops? Well, if IBM has their way, you're going to be getting a severe case of storage envy in the future.
IBM scientists are working on racetrack memory, a new type of memory that is similar to flash memory in the sense that there are no moving parts. The memory chip would be able to store roughly 500,000 songs, compared to the iPod 160GB's 40,000. They also say that they hope to continue research and get the product out on the market within the next ten years. Ten years, 160GB iPod Guy. Ten Years.
Choreograper Merce Cunningham has worked with musician John Cage and the legendary Andy Warhol. The 87-year-old is apparently in touch with the emergence of digital music as evidenced by eyeSpace, a dance performance piece. A dance performance piece whose music is presented via the iPod shuffle.
Composer Mikel Rouse has written music that the audience listens to on iPods during the performance. There are other sounds played during the performance to enhance the atmosphere as well. With similar concepts being developed in the art world, it's cool to see one initiated by someone who's supposed to be too old to know what an iPod is.
The newest addition to the mad dash called the iPod accessories race comes from Bluelounge. You may remember that Bluelounge (www.bluelounge.com) created the Cableyoyo for managing cords, and now they've taken a stronger step in providing quality and useful accessories for the iPod. This new device is called the Sanctuary, and it looks pretty nifty.
The Sanctuary is a unviersal charging station/dock that has 12 connectors for charging different devices. The Dock Connector for iPods and iPhones is an integral part of this system, which also contains a USB port. The devices sit inside of the charging tray, while cords are underneath - out of sight. The Sanctuary is available for $130 and comes in black and white.
Oh, iTunes. It seems like every time I open you up to listen to my music collection or to look through your vast online store, you're trying to get me to approve an update. You remind me of a robot whose creators didn't seem to get him right the first time and so they have to keep tweaking you.
This week, iTunes was given yet another tightening of the screws, so to speak. iTunes 7.6.2 was released by Apple and includes "bug fixes to iprove stability and performance." You can pick up the update automatically, or over at apple.com/itunes.
Like seemingly everyone else, Memorex has a nifty iPod accessory. This one is a little different, to say the least. It's called the iWake Clock Radio for iPod, and it's pretty much what it sounds like.
The unviersal dock, available now in blue, purple, and red, has a remote and a potent LCD screen. It can wake you out of the deepest slumber with an alarm (yawn...), a radio (been there.), or music from your iPod (now we're talking!). Memorex says that it's "not only an ideal complement to home decor, it also functions as a versatile alarm clock." It's avaiable at your local Target store for 80 bucks.
They say you learn something new every day, and they're right. If only I could learn who "they" are. Kaplan, maker of study tools for the SAT exams have joined with Apple to re-issue some of their titles for the iPod.
Sat Prep Reading, SAT Prep Writing, and SAT Prep Math can now be downloaded for the iPod classic and iPod nano (3rd Gen.). These educational programs can be purchased in the iTunes Store in the iPod Games area. Kaplan has been helping students prepare for the SAT exams for years, and these updates seem poised to carry that tradition on into the next gen.
