A Big Pod 01/04/2009

We might very soon have iPods with really big displays. While Tec Crunch’s sources claim to have actually handled one of the iPod prototypes with big screens, and Apple is talking with manufacturers in Asia about mass production of the device, according to the report. Certainly at that size, the device would be more of a tablet than an iPod, and tablet rumors have been floating around Apple for years. There was a fury of speculation in August after a number of Mac sites pointed to a U.S. patent application granted for what would appeared to be the mythical Mac tablet. Apple Insider published a description of the device discussed in the application, which appears to bring a lot of the iPhones multitouch functionality to a slate-like tablet computer.

Earlier this year, CEO Steve Jobs implied Apple was watching small-device categories like tablets and Notebooks to see if they actually take off as a mega-trend. But Jobs has also quickly shot down talk of an Apple-produced competitor to Amazon's Kindle, which has been interpreted as a sign Apple was doing just that.

Now, there are those of you who love Sushi. Would you like it if tell you that there’s a new iPhone App titled ‘The Sushi Encyclopedia’, which will be put out by the Japanese publishing house Shogakukan. The initial offering will give us 82 descriptions of different types of sushi, complete with pictures. 82 doesn’t seem like a whole lot to me, especially for an encyclopedia .The sad bit is that the first edition will be available in Japanese only. The English version should be soon to follow. I’d also look for frequent updates to the app to provide more types of sushi, pictures, even locations of sushi restaurants worldwide… That could be helpful.

The Sushi Encyclopedia would sell for around $5 USD. Stay tuned for this one, it’s coming soon. There are already 2 apps in the App Store dealing with Sushi. The first is Sushi City. It’s a game where you have to serve up sushi as fast as you can to waiting customers. You can pick it up for $0.99 in the App Store.

Lots of people love their Apple iPod Video players, and would like to go ahead with them, even if they have to repair them.
So besides getting a new battery installed, customers can have their broken video iPod LCD replaced with a brand new one that is brighter than the original one, replace a failing headphone jack, get a pristine new white or black faceplate, or a shiny new metal back plate clear of any markings or blemishes. And if your iPod Video is not working properly and you are not sure what the problem is, just have it evaluated for $9 bucks to see if the repairs are more extensive, like needing a new hard drive or logic board.  Some Video iPod repairs (or 5th Gen iPod repairs) are simple enough for the average Joe to complete on his own, like a battery replacement. Other repairs, like changing out a new iPod video screen, are perhaps best left to the professionals at Milliamp LTD. Have an iPhone or iPod Nano? Well, the website ipodjuice.com can fix those Apple devices as well.

It’s time for UK now to go frenzy with a gizmo that converts an iPod into a breath Analyser. This gadget was a craze in the American market two years ago. The iBreath can be plugged into the music system and has a tube which when blown through reveals if the user is over the legal drinking limit. The gadget also acts as a radio transmitter to play music from the iPod in the car.

However, as reported y Sun, health experts have cautioned that the device might show wrong results. According to Sun GP, Dr. Carol Cooper, this device will let us know about how much alcohol is there in our breath and not how much we are impaired by it. This might even vary from person to person.
