Now you can become an artist using your iPhone and iPod. Several different iTunes apps for the iPhone and iPod Touch allows the users to edit photos, record music and now paint.
French artist and videographer, David Lasnier used the Brushes app and composed a painting on his iPod and uploaded his artwork to Flickr. The paintings immediately garnered praises and links from the commenter and bloggers. Lasnier said that the small screen and limited types of brush limit the possibilities, still it boosts his creativity. The Brushes app has its own Flicks group having a number of regular contributors. These contributors create and elaborate professional illustrations with the help of a simple program.
January was a slow month for Apple with iPod unit sales down by 14%. Even Mac unit sales were down by 6% as compared with last January according to a recent NPD data released. The Wall Street was expecting Mac sales to be off by only 4% and iPod sales off by 11%, according to Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster.
According to a report, Munster has predicted that iPod sales should come around 9 to 10 million units. However, Munster finds something cheerful about iPod numbers even though expectations are that unit sales would fall 6% to 15% by the end of the quarter. He was pleased by the average price for iPods in January, which was up by 4% as he had expected it to fall to 3%.
According to the January report of AdMob, Apple’s iPod Touch has the highest rate of growth for browsing the internet among the mobile devices. The number of requests for surfing the internet from iPod Touch rose to 7.4% in January from 4.7% in December. This is the highest increase of any mobile device till date.
Last month among the ads request from mobile devices, the AdMob report showed that iPod Touch stands second to the iPhone. AdMob supplies online ads mostly to devices such as cell phones. Such reports show very clearly that more and more people are using the internet capabilities through their iPhone and iPod Touch.
